Dorset were the MOST hospitable County to visit for the 2nd Team Friendly at Ferndown on Sunday 27th April.  They laid on the most glorious weather on a brilliantly presented course, with a team of exceptionally friendly golfers and the grand finale was THE most delicious cake in Dorset.  

The day started with a team tactics chat in the patio under the hot sun.  Tactics quickly became a litany of woes....two players with shoulder injuries, one with horrific hay fever, one with bright red sun burn and one feeling very rusty!!   Onwards and upwards Team.  First off was Alex Sutherland and Tracey Willmont-Coles who battled valiantly against a crafty pair of excellent putters from Dorset and lost, despite some great golf with an eagle and a few birdies.  Second out was the hay fever sufferer Tammy Rowe with Izzie Lawson - formidable pairing who dovetailed beautifully and won 4&3. Izzy by her own admission was a wee bit rusty but has found her mojo again.  Third out was the best friend pairing of IOW Islanders Lucy Burke and Sammi Keen - you stand back in sheer wonder when Sammi launches a rocket or 18 down the fairways.  They won in true style 5&4 and never once saw one of their opponents as she was vertically challenged compared to her playing partner and opponents.  Bringing up the rear was Seniors Captain Dian Oram and Amanda Green who played really well, only narrowly missing out on a victory.  An honourable draw was a fitting result for such a wonderful day of golf and friendship.
