Knight Cup - 2022

Knight Cup Finals – Petersfield GC – Monday 12th September 2022

A total of 46 clubs started out on the journey back in the Spring and the final 4 gathered at Petersfield GC to compete for the 2022 Knight Cup.

Petersfield GC was looking lovely as pairs from Hayling, Cams Hall, Boundary Lakes and Tylney Park arrived to bright sunny skies and a perfect day for golf.

In semi final one, Sandy Myers and Liz Styles took Hayling into an early lead. Although the experienced pairing of Sian Roberts and Gina King, representing Cams Hall, gradually clawed some of the lead back, 2 lengthy putts on holes 12 and 14 restored Hayling’s lead which they held onto for a 4 & 2 victory.

Semi final two between Boundary Lakes, represented by Shani Clarke and Meaw Lucas, and Tylney Park represented by Carol Dyason and Jo Shillitto, followed a similar pattern. Boundary Lakes established an early lead which they never relinquished and ran out winners by the same 4 & 2 scoreline.

The afternoon final was keenly contested although Boundary Lakes had managed to edge into the lead at the turn and were 2 up. Despite all their efforts, Hayling were unable to repeat their form from the morning, and Boundary Lakes gradually pulled away to win 4 & 2.

Congratulations to all four clubs for reaching this year’s finals day, and particular congratulations must go to the Boundary Lakes pair on winning the 2022 Knight Cup.
