A great win for the Team on Thursday at Upavon, 6 - 1. The weather was lovely although a little breezy especially when you reached the top of the course. Upavon was a very hilly course and many of the ladies felt like mountain goats, going up hill and down dale. The fairways were a delight to walk on and felt like a sumptuous carpet and the views from the top of the course were stunning, looking over Salisbury Plain and the Vale of Pewsey. The signature hole is the Par 3 18th which presents you with a drive across the valley to an elevated green with Pterry the Pterodactyl watching your every shot. The 18th was certainly a scary looking hole over the valley and played much longer than it's suggested 135 Yards. I think many of us were actually pleased to have won our matches before 18, it must be a great match play hole if you are all square.
We were well looked after by the club and Wiltshire ladies and everyone seemed to enjoy the after match meal.
Thank you to all the Hampshire Ladies who played, I'm sure you slept well on Thursday evening. Our next match is on Tuesday 15th August at Southwick Park against Sussex.
