Junior Order of Merit

The Order of Merit (OoM) is a season-long competition for members of the Hampshire Ladies Golf Junior programme. There are 25 qualifying events across the season including 7 Hampshire Ladies Golf Junior events, plus 9 events before 30th June and a further 9 events after 1st July.

How points will be awarded

Points will be awarded to players that finish in the top 10 at each OoM event with 14 points awarded for a 1st place finish, 10 points for 2nd place, 8 points for 3rd place and reducing by 1 point for each place thereafter. If there is a tie by score for a place, points shall be awarded by count-back.

In order to run two divisions, points will be awarded for top 10 scratch places (forming a scratch Order of Merit) and top 10 nett places (forming a nett Order of Merit).

Qualifying events & rankings

The Order of Merit rankings for both divisions will be based on:

Points awarded at ALL of the following Hampshire Ladies Golf Junior events:

• Junior Squad days (25th Feb, 28th April, 30th June, 29th September)
• Junior Spring Meeting (14th April)
• Junior Championship (7th August)
• Junior Autumn Meeting (6th October)

PLUS

Points awarded from the best 3 finishes at any of following events before 30th June:

• Hampshire Ladies Golf Championship at Liphook (first 18 holes of qualifying round Friday 17th May OR qualifying round on Wednesday 15th May depending on the division entered)
• Liphook Junior Open (4th April)
• Hampshire Rose, North Hants (7th April)*
• Corhampton Junior Open (8th April)
• Romsey Junior Open (12th May)
• Hayling Junior Open (28th May)
• Paultons Junior Open (29th May)
• Bramshaw Junior Open (30th May)
• Petersfield Junior Open (31st May)

AND

Points awarded from the best 3 finishes at any of following events after 1st July:

• Hockley Junior Open (29th July)
• Brokenhurst Junior Open (1st August)
• Rowlands Castle Junior Open (1st August)
• Stoneham Junior Open (15th August)
• Royal Winchester Junior Open (18th August)
• North Hants Junior Open (27th August)
• Army Junior Open (29th August)
• Bramshaw Junior Open (21st October)
• Junior European Open at Corhampton (28th October)*

Prizes

The top 4 ranked girls in the scratch Order of Merit as at 1st July will automatically earn a place in the team that represents Hampshire at Junior County Match Week. At the end of the year, the winner and runner up of both the scratch and nett Order of Merit divisions will be awarded prizes at the end of season prize giving. 

In the event of a tie in rankings, the winner will be awarded to the player gaining the highest number of 1st places, going to 2nd, 3rd placings etc. if required.
