Hampshire Ladies Golf

Junior & Intermediate Golf

Our junior & intermediate girls are the future of ladies' golf in Hampshire.  Through the junior programme, our aim is to build a competitive junior scratch team, while encouraging girls and young women of all abilities to play and enjoy golf.

We do this by delivering coaching from some of the best professionals in the game and running a range events across Hampshire, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands that provide a platform for development and a foundation to create long lasting friendships.

Our talent development pathway

The junior & intermediate programme is aligned with our talent development pathway which is outlined below.

Hampshire junior talent pathway diagram

The criteria for entry into the different stages of the talent pathway are as follows:

  • Participation - girls with handicaps between 36.0 - 54.0 or working towards obtaining their handicap
  • Preparation – girls with a handicap index between 25.1 and 36.0 or girls under 12 with a handicap index below 36.0
  • Projection – girls over the age of 12 with 25.0 handicap index or below that have played in Hampshire events
  • Performance – girls with single figure handicap indexes that have played in Hampshire events
  • Intermediates – girls over 18 years of age and under 30

Please note that these definitions above are a guide only and the J&I Director and coaching staff may use their discretion to align girls to a specific stage on the pathway at the beginning of or during the coaching season (January to December).
