Hampshire 1st Team v Junior Performance Squad

Hockley GC was looking at it's glorious best as a Hampshire First Team played Hampshire Juniors, giving invaluable match-play practice on the course that will host Junior County Match Week in August.

It was impressive to see the youngsters arrive early and engage in a lengthy warm-up session on the range, overseen by J & I Director Hannah Holloway, who had very split loyalties for this match.

Following lunch, the seven singles games commenced with some awesome, long drives being despatched down the first fairway. All matches were played in an amicable and supportive spirit with expert on-course advice given by former Hampshire players, Chris, Chris and Sue, for which we were all very grateful.

Gathered around the 18^th green watching the final putts, a large group of players and supporters were delighted with the halved match, it felt the right result. Especially as it is hoped that this will become an annual fixture playing for The Elke Jackson Cup.

Thank you to everyone involved and especially Hockley GC for a super, sun-kissed, friendly afternoon of golf, which has certainly whetted our appetite for August!
