Junior Girls Autumn Meeting 2025

The Autumn Meeting at Royal Winchester Golf Club concluded the Hampshire Ladies’ Junior season on Sunday 12th October, featuring a strong field of 19 talented players, some of whom were experiencing their first Hampshire event. As sunlight finally broke through in the afternoon, the sense of camaraderie and competition was unmistakable, highlighting the values and excitement that junior golf brings to our county. Of course, there was also some great golf on display on the course which was in great condition.
Grateful thanks goes to Royal Winchester Golf Club for their hospitality and support throughout the day as well as to the Hampshire Ladies’ Golf competitions committee, especially Anne, Pauline, and our referees Carron and Ange, whose organisation and guidance made the event seamless.
County Captain Eilean expressed sincere admiration for the standard of play and the respectful, supportive atmosphere amongst the girls. The friendships forged and strengthened during rounds are ultimately the greatest reward—moments of encouragement, celebration, and care stood out just as much as the impressive shots and scores.
While every player contributed to a wonderful afternoon, today’s competition focused on nett scores, with additional recognition for the best gross performance and newcomer achievement. There were a number of new faces in the field and one of them was not only our overall nett winner with 38 points on countback, she was also the winner of the President’s Cup, which is awarded each year to the newcomer with the best score. Congratulations to Annabelle Elsley from Waterlooville Golf Club for winning this great accolade in her first Hampshire competition. Our Gross winner was also a newcomer, with 30 points Gross Carmel Lam from Stoneham Golf Club. Our other prize winners were Megan Jones from Hockley, Georgia Richardson from Stoneham and Eleanor Bourke from Royal Jersey.
It truly was a fantastic end to the 2025 season. We're already looking forward to next year.
