For the first time we think we had the unique situation of having two Carols (not of the Christmas type, in the Challenge Salver Final – Carol Taylor from Newport GC on the island and Carole Sparling from North Hants GC and also two Sarahs in the Challenge Bowl Final – Sarah Fox from North Hants GC and Sarah Green from Lee-on-the-Solent GC.

Carole Sparling won the Challenge Slaver on the 18th in a tense and close fought final and Sarah Fox made it a clean sweep for North Hants in the Challenge Bowl Final.
