North Hants Trophy Finals Day, 5th October 2025

6 teams arrived at Bramshaw on a lovely sunny morning to play for the North Hants Trophy and the North Hants Plate. The Clubhouse was full of excitement as they prepared for their matches.

Romsey won the toss in the first match and elected to tee off first and Tracy Grimes started the day followed by Emma Page from Test Valley. The 2nd semi-final was between Corhampton and Hayling as Hazelle Garton-Raynes tee’d off followed by Kath Stewart.

As the scores started to come in, it was pretty close after the first 9 holes, with Test Valley ahead in one match, Hayling ahead in one match. Romsey ahead in one match and Corhampton up in 2 matches. As the matches went on, it began to come clearer and the first result to come in was Emma Page from Test Valley who won 4 & 3 in the first match. Hayling then came in with a 4 & 3 win but by then 3 of the matches were coming in one by one on the 18th finishing all square. They all went down the 19th and by that time we had the last match result which came in for a Corhampton win. We had to wait for the remaining matches which all finished on the 19th and at last we had the 2 finalists decided as Corhampton and Test Valley were victorious.

The Plate Final followed immediately after the morning semi-finals. Annie Murgatroyd tee’d off first for Blackmoor followed by Jo Lockett from South Winchester. As these matches got underway, Blackmoor very quickly went ahead and were up in all 3 matches at the turn. The first result came in from Tracey Wilmont-Coles with an astounding 9 & 7 and the 2nd match came in with a win from Lynnette Knight. At this point the 3rd match was called in. Blackmoor were the winners of the North Hants Plate.

After a quick turnaround for lunch the finalists were on the tee right on time. Kath Stewart from Corhampton was the first to tee off for the afternoon matches, followed by Emma Page from Test Valley. As the afternoon continued, the supporters were treated to some absolutely incredible golf and after 9 holes, Corhampton were up in 2 of the matches and Test Valley up in the last match. As play continued the result of the 2nd match came in as Tammy Rowe from Corhampton came in with a 4 & 3 win. The 3rd match result then followed and was won by Rachel McAlpine from Test Valley 4 & 2. It was all on the first match which was so close with Corhampton 1 up after 14. There was a tough battle going with Emma Page from Test Valley trying to fight back but Corhampton managed to hold on to their lead and we were all treated a great finish with Kath Stewart from Corhampton finishing 1 up on the 18th. Corhampton had won the North Hants Trophy for the first time ever.

It was a fitting end to the 2025 knockout finals and we would like to thank Bramshaw for the use of their course and everyone involved in making the day so successful.

The North Hants Trophy is a scratch singles match play team competition where each team consists of three players. Teams which lose in the first round will be eligible to play in the North Hants Plate.
